Standard Tuning - $150
R
ecommended twice a year, a thorough and accurate tuning on your piano.

Pitch Raise Tuning - $175-$225
If your piano has not been tuned for some time, it is quite possible that the instrument is below pitch overall. Pitch raising requires multiple passes; first rough passes to bring up the pitch, and then a finer pass to refine the tuning. The lower the pitch the more work this requires.

less than 10 cents flat - no extra charge
10 to 40 cents - $175
40 to 100 cents - $200
beyond 100 cents - $225

What's a cent?  There are 100 cents between semi-tones. C to C# is one semi-tone or a half-step and the difference is equal to 100 cents.

A piano that is pitch raised may not be as stable and will sometimes need another tuning sooner than a regularly tuned instrument. Regular tuning of your piano eliminates the need for pitch raises and results in more stable tunings for your instrument.

Climate Control Systems
I
nstalling a climate control system can greatly increase the tuning stability of your piano and reduce wear on critical components such as the pinblock, bridges, soundboard etc.
I install Dampp-Chaser climate control systems. Vertical systems can be installed for $450, most grands for $625 and slightly more for large grands.

Bass String Replacement
$90 for one string - $45 for additional bass strings - Entire bass section at $20/per string
Full restringing priced per job. Restringing is a large job and a good to time to assess whether or not other issues need to be addressed, such as pinblock replacement, plate refinishing, soundboard repair or replacement or maybe just a thorough cleaning while the strings are out of the way.
New bass strings will require two visits, one to take measurements and a second visit to do the replacement once I receive the strings from the string manufacturer.

Action Regulation
R
anging from $250 for minor regulation up to $1,500 for a full grand regulation.
Hammer Reshaping - $175
I
f your hammers have pronounced grooves where they strike the strings it is negatively affecting your pianos voice. Shaping the hammers restores the strike surface and improves tone.

Voicing - $100-250
The sound of your piano can be manipulated through the voicing process. The most important aspect of voicing is achieving consistency of tone from one note to the next. No note should stand out from the others as too bright or too soft. Basically, hammers can be voiced up to be brighter or voiced down to be mellower. Over time piano the felt of piano hammers becomes compressed and may become hardened and harsh sounding. Needling can even out this condition by softening the compressed felt.

Key Rebushing - $350

Excessive side-to-side play in keys can develop over time causing a 'wobbly' feel to the keys. This is corrected by replacing the felt bushing cloth at the front of the key and at the balance rail (the point at which the key pivots).

Key Recovering
Pricing varies depending upon choice of material and whether or not sharp keys are done as well.

Other Repairs - priced per job
I am happy to discuss with you any questions or concerns you may have about your piano. Some repairs and minor adjustments can be done during a regular tuning call.
